Piano Lessons in Angmering
Welcome to our purpose-built piano studio in Angmering, West Sussex. Opened in 2024, this is the main home of the Paul Hunter School of Piano. Our Angmering school offers a friendly and professional environment where students of all ages – from young beginners through to advanced pianists – can thrive.
Lessons take place on a beautiful acoustic piano in a calm, dedicated music room. Many of our students work towards ABRSM exams, diplomas, and competitions, while others simply learn for pleasure. The focus is always on enjoyment, creativity, and steady progress at the piano.
Our Angmering school is led by founder Paul Hunter, alongside teachers and Dan Peake and Jane Bowen Melfi. Together, they offer a wide range of lesson styles – from traditional classical training to creative, composition-led and contemporary approaches – so we can match each student with the teacher who best fits their personality, goals, and schedule.

Who you’ll learn with at our Angmering school
Paul Hunter – Founder & Principal Teacher
Paul teaches from our Angmering studio and also works at leading independent schools and the University of Sussex. He specialises in guiding students from beginner through to advanced and diploma level, as well as helping adults return to the piano with confidence and enjoyment.
Dan Peake – Teacher, Angmering & Worthing
Dan teaches both from our Angmering studio and from his home studio in Worthing. He combines solid piano training with a creative, fun-centred approach, drawing on his experience as a composer, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. Dan is ideal for students who enjoy improvising, composing their own music, or exploring a wide range of styles.
Jane Bowen Melfi – Teacher, Angmering
Jane teaches from our Angmering studio and brings more than 30 years’ experience as a pianist, teacher and music educator. Alongside her work with us, she is Director of Music at Bishop Luffa School. Jane has extensive experience teaching children and adults and combines a warm, encouraging approach with strong foundations in technique, musicianship, exam preparation and performance. She is particularly skilled at adapting lessons to suit each student’s individual goals, confidence and learning style.
